Starting next spring, Cochise College will expand its financial aid offering to five programs. Students enrolling in specific certificate and degree programs beginning in Spring 2025 will now have access to federal financial aid, broadening opportunities for career-focused education and making college more affordable.
The newly eligible programs include the Dental Assistant Certificate, Paraeducator Certificate, Digital Marketing for Business Certificate, Bachelor of Applied Science in Leadership, Management, and Operations, and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Cochise College, like other colleges around the United States, is embracing initiatives to make higher education more affordable. The college recognizes the financial burdens that today’s economy places on families. “This expansion represents our commitment to making higher education accessible and affordable for students,” said Karen Emmer, director of the financial aid department at the college. “By offering financial aid for these high-demand programs, we are opening opportunities to more students to pursue their career aspirations.”
To qualify, students must file their 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. To complete the FAFSA, students can fill out the online application at the studentaid.gov website. Cochise College’s school code is 001072. Students are encouraged to schedule a meeting with the college’s Financial Aid staff before winter break. Emmer adds, “It’s important for students to act promptly. The spring semester begins on January 13, 2025.”
