DOUGLAS, Ariz. --- The Cochise Women's Basketball team sought to extend their win streak, as they hosted conference foe Yavapai College for a Wednesday evening matchup. From buzzer to buzzer, Cochise never lost a lead to the Roughriders, running away with a 95-37 win.
Cochise stormed out to an early 29-10 lead after the first quarter, led by ACCAC Player of the Week Kaylynn Asberry, who was 3 for 3 from beyond the arc. Cochise continued to plummet Yavapai in the second half, led by the sophomore duo of Asberry and Micayla Silas, who scored four combined three-pointers.
Asberry finished the game with 21 points and four assists, with Silas following with 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Sophomore Jessie Joaquim earned a double-double, scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds.
