Hispanic-Serving Institution
Cochise College is proudly recognized as a Hispanic-serving institution.
Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) are defined as colleges, universities, or districts where total Hispanic enrollment constitutes a minimum of 25% of the total enrollment.
The purpose of the HSI committee is to develop, guide, and oversee Hispanic cultural engagement. Including:
- Identifying the cultural interests of faculty, staff, and students
- Motivating faculty, staff, and students to participate in and conduct Hispanic culture initiatives/activities
- Seeking funding opportunities
- Have a meaningful impact on student life, academic support, community outreach
