Hispanic-Serving Institution

 

Cochise College is proudly recognized as a Hispanic-serving institution.

Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) are defined as colleges, universities, or districts where total Hispanic enrollment constitutes a minimum of 25% of the total enrollment. 

The purpose of the HSI committee is to develop, guide, and oversee Hispanic cultural engagement. Including:

  • Identifying the cultural interests of faculty, staff, and students
  • Motivating faculty, staff, and students to participate in and conduct Hispanic culture initiatives/activities
  • Seeking funding opportunities
  • Have a meaningful impact on student life, academic support, community outreach

Other organizations that Cochise College is affiliated with include HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities) and AHSIE (Alliance for Hispanic Serving Institution Educators).
