Submit Transcripts to Cochise College

Transcripts are required from each previously attended institution. The mailed transcripts must be in the original sealed envelope and electronic transcripts must come directly from the issuing institution to be considered official for transfer credit.

Cochise College does not accept and award any credit for courses from Sophia Learning, Straighterline, and Study.com.

Due to the high volume of transcripts we receive on a daily basis, you will not be contacted about the status of your evaluation. Once your transcripts have been evaluated, view your transfer credits on your unofficial transcript through your MyCochise Student Portal Account.

Processing can take up to six weeks.

Note: Computers using restrictive firewalls, such as military and university computers, may block you from MyCochise areas.

Acceptance of credits by Cochise College towards a degree or certificate depends on:

  • Whether the courses were completed at Institutional Accrediting Bodies (IAB). Institutional Accrediting Bodies of higher education include: New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Higher Learning Commission, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
  • Transfer of college or university level courses shall be accepted from Institutional and Programmatic Accrediting Bodies (IPAB) that are listed in the latest edition of the Higher Education Directory, a directory of accredited postsecondary, degree-granting institutions in the U.S. and its possessions and territories accredited by regional, national, professional and specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Transfer of college or university credits from IAPB may be accepted for credit in specified AAS and AGS degrees.
  • Transfer credit from IAPB cannot be used to fulfill the Arizona General Education Requirements (AGEC) when transferring to any Arizona public university.
  • If you have received a grade of C or better.
High School/ HSED Transcriptsaccordian open close

High School/HSED transcripts must be official and enclosed in a sealed envelope. Opened transcripts and copies of diplomas are not acceptable. Transcripts can be hand-carried to the Admissions Office or mailed to:

International Transcriptsaccordian open close

Non-U.S. transcripts of post-secondary education must be evaluated by a recognized foreign credential evaluation service to determine their U.S. equivalency. Various credential evaluation agencies can interpret the educational credits of people who have studied outside the United States and are in need of statements of U.S. equivalencies.

International students who received certificates or diplomas from nursing schools outside the United States should obtain the academic report through the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS Website).

Military Transcripts (JST)accordian open close

Soldiers and veterans of the Army, Army National Guard, U.S. Army Reserves, Navy and Marines can request official JST transcripts at the JST (website) and select “Cochise College (All Campuses)” from the dropdown list of schools.

Military transcripts are only evaluated upon request. Send an e-mail to eval@cochise.edu upon completion of your official transcript request through JST Webpage. Veterans with a Basic Active Service Date (BASD) prior to Oct. 1, 1981 who do not have access to JST transcripts can have their educational experiences during military service evaluated if they provide their certified DD Form 214 or a completed and signed DD Form 295.

Cochise College does not issue unofficial or official transcripts until the student has registered for and completed a Cochise College course with a grade of A, B, C, D, F, P or Audit (policy 4020.2).

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Credit

1. Credit is granted for national standardized exams such as the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), the Advanced Placement Examination (AP) of the College Entrance Examination Board, International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International Exams (CIE), and DANTES-Subject Standardized Test (DSST) .

2. Credit for military service is granted based on American Council on Education Military guidelines (ACE Military Guide).

3. Credit for non-collegiate instruction is granted based on American Council on Education guidelines (ACE National Guide) and approval from the academic dean.

4. Credit is granted for successful completion of certified law enforcement academy training (Custom and Border Protection, AZPOST, and COTA).

5. Credit is granted for specific certifications or other programs as approved by the executive vice president for academics.

6. Credit is granted through the Cochise Academic Challenge (CAC) process, which is student-centered and faculty-driven, for awarding students college credit for demonstrated equivalent course knowledge. The CAC process is overseen by the Office of Admissions and Records, in collaboration with the respective academic dean.
